We are nearly half way through the year - time flies. The NHW Community Village has had a bit of a growth spurt in the past few months now surging past 250 members. Here are some fast facts about who the members are:

-   R4D2 has the most members at 43
-   6% of members are from Interstate

My local Neighbourhood Watch is?

This is the Neighbourhood Watch Victoria Inc. website that covers the Neighbourhood Watch program that runs in Victoria, Australia.
For operational reasons, we break the state up into Regions and Divisions in line with the Victoria Police model.
Regions and Divisions consist of multiple Local Government Areas (LGA's). To determine your local Region and Division use the table below. All region titles and divisional titles will link off to their relevant information if clicked.

Preventing Identity-Related Fraud

Identity-related fraud is a growing concern in Australia. Today it is possible for some-one to obtain a range of identifying documents and/or information through fraud, deception or theft. Completely false documents can also be created using stolen personal information. These documents can then be misused in order to profit at our expense. For example, bank account details, date of birth and tax file numbers can be used to take funds out of bank accounts or fraudulently apply for loans.

Victoria Police Party Safe Program

Victoria Police - PartySafe can help and support you in hosting your party. Victoria Police, in collaboration with the Victorian Department of Justice, has introduced the PartySafe program across Victoria. The PartySafe initiative is a key crime prevention tool in your local area.

PartySafe provides information to help minimise the risk of having intoxicated guests or gatecrashers ruining your party. Registering your party with the police (on the party safe form) will provide the police with the information they need to know if they are called to your party to deal with a disturbance.

Deadlocks

Double Cylinder Deadlocks have always been a great first line defence against burglary. To improve user safety, deadlocks have been redesigned to incorporate a quick "safety release" feature.

The safety release has been designed to allow residents to quickly vacate their home in an emergency such as fire, without the need for searching or fiddling for a key in a time critical situation.

Also available are "Lever" Deadlocks which have a lever action to assist older people or those who have a physical disability to open their door easier.
